Well,I completed my build with my specs below. I was struggling to maintain detail and 25 fps most anywhere, avoiding major airports and traffic almost entirely, with a blurry mess below me. Not anymore. I just flew into IAH with traffic on, sliders almost all to the full right, I can hardly type it was so nice - NO BLURRIES NO STUTTERS......This build cost me 1200 bucks, since I gave my wife the old box, and had to build from absolute scratch....case, mouse, power supply, I could not re-use anything. The E6750 is running STOCK, not overclocked a bit, and I have a Zalman cooler on it, so I can play with its potential later on down the road. But right now, I don't need to.thanks for all the help narrowing down hardware, I got from this forum. My graphics card choice alone, was from help on this board. So thanks, and happy flying. With the right harware configuration, this sim really can FLY!Danon O.

Hey, you are running the exact same hard drives I am. Good to hear how well it is working for you. Posts like yours make me want to upgrade my FS rig too, but I will stubbornly wait...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

yea, I think it was a post you made in a thread about raid vs. raptor and it made me decide to go with a single raptor. You also helped me start to look towards Nvidia since I was going to go with the X1950 XT from ATI. This is probably a setup I am most proud of, it really came together good and is rock solid. I have overclocked to 3.2, and have NOT TOUCHED the config file, or deleted anything from FSX, this is a stock install. Im sure I can make it run better, but it is fluid - even with a flight one cirrus SR22 G2 glass cockpit. It was worth the wait though, the price drops helped. Not only did the price fall for the chip, but for just about everything in some degree - I researched and waited patiently for 3 month's - glad I did. So good luck, I came from the same chipset as you - couldnt be happier...Im sure you will get more bang for your buck than I did, if you hold out.D -
