August 31, 200718 yr I just went from a Pentium D 3.2Ghz with Nvidia 7800GTX (2) running SLI to a Quad Core (Q6600) 2.4Ghz and WHAT a difference. For a motherboard upgrade (evga 680I) and a new chip, my FPS worries are long gone. I'm averaging ~30fps on the ground with 60% traffic and most sliders maxed at major airports. My advise is go for the chip before you upgrade your video cards. You may get what you want.I've been tweaking non-stop since FS95. Time to fly! :) Bob Donovan - KBOS
August 31, 200718 yr yeah....I've always been telling people here than a new GPU isn't gonna get you much more than the ability to run at a higher resolution...not news to me hehe | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 31, 200718 yr I can confirm this and add that overclocking my CPU really made a big difference, too. I got almost a 1 for 1 increase in FPS to CPU Mhz increases.Steve Gravley
