November 23, 200718 yr Besides the possibility of better AA. I'm not expecting any progress in my FPS since I have a 6400 but about stutters, textures loading time etc?I'm using Vista.ThanksJos
November 23, 200718 yr I'm by no means an expert, but I do think textures loading would improve. It has 512MB of RAM obviously so I think that would help. I went from a 7900GS to an 8800GTS 640mb and I saw a big improvement in the overall experience.
November 24, 200718 yr yeah I'm wondering too, I would be going from a 6800XT 256mb to an 8800GT 512 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 28, 200718 yr Author Bought the card. Same configuration that I had in 7600GT got an 20% improvement in rural areas. However in KSEA mybe 5-10%, however, Mytraffic was only with FSX SDK AI so less AI could explain the benefit. Of course in KSEA I had a CPU bound configuration (6400 Dual Core)Water in 2-middle without a visible penalty was a nice addition. However higher configurations implied lesser frames as expected. Since I don't like the higher configuration look it's just fine.Applied the Storm theme and didn't noticed any penalty even by looking to a wet runway.Light Bloom gave 0 impact in frames.Pumped the board configuration with nhancer 8xs AA, multi transparency AA without Enhance in-game AA setting, 8 anyso and board didn't complaint. The best part was the no stutters and no blurries (I didn't had them before) but was able to pump to 1m textures.Off course the Z-buffer taxiway and white planes problems were expected.Other games:World in conflict it's fantastic with this board and DX10. CoH is almost the same, didn't noticed any DX10 improvement.
December 1, 200718 yr Hi Guys,I went from a 7950 to an 8800GT and the differences for me were amazing.Still tweaking the settings but I can say that FSX is now runnging fluidly for me - most sliders 50 - 75% in scenery and aircraft all the way up/Would recommend it as a (relatively) cheap way to get a better FSX experience.Scott Scott Stephens
