Please help setting up Saitek yoke/throttle w//fsuipc

Featured Replies

I just got the new yoke/throttle combo and I am wondering if someone can point me to an explanation on what the settings mean in fsuipc. I am particularly looking for help with setting up the throttle quadrant with reverse thrust, spoilers and flaps. With my old CH yoke I could never get things right and I had to always use the keyboard for reverse thrust. With the Saitek quadrant it seems like it is set up for reverse thrust but I have no idea what to do.In addition, I have no idea what the figures mean in fsuipc and I noticed that there are codes for each setting. I know there is a lot that I am missing but I don't know where to find the idiots guide to setting everything up. Simple button commands are not a problem. I just have no idea how to set up the axis settings. Thanks!

I'm using the Saitek throttle with great success. After installing only the Saitek driver, making axis assignments in FS and calibrating the throttle in FS and FSUPIC with no dead zone (idle is really idle) I used FSUPIC to assign the F2 key to each of the two buttons which engage when the throttle levers are pulled into the "red" zones. I also mapped the throttles using FSUPIC so when I want to use the 744 I have 4 throttles and reversers. Works like a charm.Jim Harnes

Jeff,Download the setup guide at this link:http://www.aeroworx.com/smf/index.php?topic=2228.0Granted that this is for setting up a CH Yoke and Throttle Quad but all principles will apply exactly to your Saitek Pro Yoke. This guide is written very well and will give you a great insight to the power of FSUIPC.I also recommend you do as the guide instructs and let FSUIPC handle all of your axis assignments and calibration and disable your controls in FSX.Keep in mind, As Jim said above, that when you pull your throttle quads into the red zone it actually actuates a switch to engage reverse.

Thanks for the help. That document seems to be what I am looking for.
