December 25, 200718 yr Hi everyone,Sorry to be a bother on a festive day. I am thinking of upgrading my PC and hoping to pick up a bargin in the sales. Can somebody please help me decide between the following two graphic cards which I am considering: Radeon 2900XT or Nvidia 800GTX in cross fire and SLI setups respectively. I am particularly keen to hear from people who have got these setups, and would be interested to know how they rate them in FSX. Also, could you please suggest appropriate motherboards. Many thanks for any suggestions.Qas
January 30, 200818 yr Nvidia's SLI is basically not working in FSX ... hugely disappointing, as SLI makes really a big difference in other games win10 i9-9900/ gtx1080 / Fatal1ty Titanium / 4x8Gb / Warthog / trackIR5 / 3Dvision / CH Throttle Quadrant / Saitek trim wheel / OCULUs CV1P3dv4.5 XP11
January 30, 200818 yr If you're considering Crossfire, why not look at the new 3870X2 released yesterday. It's two GPU's on one board and the option to Quad them in the future. Prolly won't do much for FSX (might for games coded to take advantage), but you'd have the latest and greatest from ATI, if that's what your after. January 31, 200818 yr It does work at the highest resolutions with lots of AA. Then there will be a slight increase in performance alerting you that SLI is being used.
