Computer freezes

Featured Replies

Hi all, can anyone tell me why my computer tends to lockup sometimes when I access my aircrafts for the first time in FS9? Somestimes it freezes and sometimes it does not. When it does lock up, I have to reboot my machine completely. Im using the Omega 7.10 series drives for my ATI card. Thanks,Bill

>Somestimes it freezes and sometimes it does not.My first guess would be that you have not acheived a stable overclock.

Ya, I might have to bring it down to like..2.20 gz, the only problem is I dont want to bring it to 2.0 gz because my last CPU which was a AMD 3400 was running stock at 2.20 gz and that would be a step backwards in CPU speed. Dont you think? Even going from a single core cpu to a duel core cpu? I seem to really have a hard time getting anything stable with 2.60 and above with the current mobo. I kept reading the reviews at new egg on my CPU from people getting that same CPU to a good stable 3.0 gz. Boy was I mistaken.Bill

Have you tried increasing the vCore in your BIOS?Regards,Jim Karn

I suspect your PSU is inadequate, look for my messages at the CTD forum where it is explainedNigelVancouver

It seems like its only FS9 that locks the machine up, I can play Bioshock with no problem for a long time.Bill

If you pushed from 2.0 to 2.6 without raising the VCore, no wonder it's locking up. And FS9 will push it further than Bioshock. Bioshock relies much more on GPU then CPU, and FS9 vice versa.PS. Everyone is giving you the same advice, why don't you listen?

The X1950 series are power hungry, go look at my messages at the CTD forum, you need lots of amps on the 12v railNigel
