October 1, 200817 yr HiAnyone here ever tried to take a CH Throttle Quadrant apart. Reason is one of the throttle levers is getting loose (sorry for my bad language) what I mean is there is much more play in one lever compared to the other one.I am just afraid that 25 screws and springs will pup out of the thing when I am taking the bottom and top apart.Do I take the chance?RegardsHenrikGreenland
October 1, 200817 yr Other than losing the warranty, it isn't difficult. It's slightly difficult to keep everything aligned when putting it back together, but everything pretty well stays in place when disassembling. The springs are affixed separately from the case attachments.I took mine apart to remove the rear plastic bushing on the shaft and replace it with one I made with felt weatherstripping. Now I have free movement in the elevator control.ArtBiostar TF560-A2+, Athlon 64X2-6000+, 4GB RAM, Geforce 8800GTS-320MB, 500W PSU, 250GB HD, FSX(SP1-SP2), Audigy SE sound, Vista Home Premium 32 bit, CH Yoke & Pedals, 22" WS LCD monitor Art
October 2, 200817 yr Author Hi ArtThanks. Are you really talking about the Throttle Quadrant (the one with 6 "Throttle levers"). The Reason I ask is you are writing about elevator axis.RegardsHenrik
October 2, 200817 yr HelloI had the CH throttle quad and one of my levers was also very looseEasy enough to take apart and glue the loose lever to the pot, but it will be loose again before long.I just lived with it until one of the pots stopped working altogether.Another "future project" it will make a nice switch panel someday.
October 2, 200817 yr Author Hi Mad dogYes - it is not the most stable harware. This is my second TQ. The first one was changed under the waranty, but this one is now 3 years old. I wil give it a try.Henrik
