February 25, 200620 yr A couple of shots from the Frankfurt finish on Friday night. A great race by everyone. And great fortitude shown by finishing the snowy, fog-enshrouded Alps after nightfall.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143268.jpgBaton-1 Lands in the capable hands of Jeroen.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143270.jpgA post race gathering of part of the crew. --Mike MacKuen
February 25, 200620 yr Most taken while scouting the routes in daylight so you guys can see what you should have been scared of :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143282.jpgI made it downto Lugano without going around, but it was close ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143283.jpgThe high point (literally). 3 times I did it in practice without problems, but when it had to be done for real it almost went wrong.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143284.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143285.jpgGazer on final.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143286.jpgWaiting patiently at Innsbruck.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143287.jpgAlmost home, Mike's warming up the cocoa.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143288.jpg
February 25, 200620 yr Nearly full squadron at Frankfurt. (A few others joined in and out.)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143304.jpgThis was a great week for all of us. One of the really wonderful things was getting so many new (and talented) people involved this year. The planning and flying are really terrific. But getting so deeply involved with such a great bunch of fellows make this specialAs Chris says, the best thing in flight simulation.Mike --Mike MacKuen

There is something utterly charming about flying the Clasics. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143336.jpgFellow Cubbies landing...on the grass between taxiways. February 25, 200620 yr Sometimes, we get a little surprise whilst traveling abroad. Not everything is exactly as we expect...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143337.jpgOn climbout from Guatemala City, we encounter interesting features of the local landscape. Note the altitude.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/143338.jpgThis was a little too close for comfort. Imagine passing through Guatemala at night--quite a surprise to CFIT in clean air at 20,000ft. --Mike MacKuen
February 25, 200620 yr Mike,Now that the race has ended, it's only an academic question: how did you get that small Duenna window in FS2004? Just curious.Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
February 26, 200620 yr I know lots of people like this bird, and I understand its performance is excellent. But it just doesn't look "right" to me. Too plump. But I'm sure it's a nice plane.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry

February 26, 200620 yr Hi Jozef (and Vince),When you have the Duenna running, click on the "Settings" button. You then have a couple of boxes you can check. "Keep main window on top""Reduce window when not focussed"If you are in windows mode and click these two boxes, you'll get the Duenna on the top (so you can see it) and in a reduced size when you don't have your mouse over it. I've also resized the window to make it even smaller. (If you are flying full screen, this system may not work.)Hope this helps.Great to have you in the race!Best,Mike --Mike MacKuen
