I Would definately class a bird strike as an Emergency. You don't know what has been compromised, and climbing to cruise with a cracked Windshield is bad news, especially if it breeches, and you lose pressure.

In FS2Crew, the bird only smashes the outer pane, and that's not limiting so you can continue on.The emergency would be more likely to come from the crew having a heart attack :-)Bryan
