Cabin secure card

Featured Replies

There is a red card on the throttle pedestal which indicates that the cabin is not secure. How and when is that supposed to change to secure?I'm assuming this is similar to the "cockpit door locked" stage which occurs in the B737 just before push back, but in the B767, the card seems always to remain as "not secured".

Thanks both of you!Maybe I just was looking too early - in the 737 version the cockpit door has to be locked before doing Before Start checklist - obviously not quite the same thing!

That's all correct...FO flips the card to "Cabin Secure" during the Taxi when the FA calls the flight deck to say the cabin is secure.FO flips the card to "Not Secure" when you command him to set seatbelts to Auto passing 18,000 in the climb.FO flips the card to "Secure" in the descent when the FA calls the flightdeck to inform the crew the cabin is secure. And finally the card gets flipped to "Not Secure" during the shutdown scan.Hope that helps,Bryan
