April 6, 200620 yr Page 45:15. "Do not touch the FMC until instructed. Do not touch the MAIN BUTTON until instructed either."To be absolutely clear on this, do I begin using the FMC following the FO's telling me that his cockpit setup flow is finished? Is this when I open and program the FMC? Also can I program the POS INIT page at when I first install the panel, or must I wait until the regular FMC programming? Thanks.
April 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hello Chuck,At least wait until the FO has set up the POS INIT page before touching the FMC.If you set up the POS INIT page before the FO gets to it, he'll overwrite whatever you entered in the POS INIT page.Hope that helps,Bryan B. April 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member He sets it up during his cockpit set up flow.It should occur around 26 to 27 minutes as indicated on the clock panel. If you leave the FMC open, you can see in real-time what he's doing. April 8, 200620 yr Just fyi, for those of you that have had problems getting the FO to input the correct IRS coordinates after you move the aircraft from the tutorial location, I have noticed that after the FO inserts his coordinates, you can still plug in a reference airport and then insert that into the IRS coordinates line on the FMC, and if you do it immediately after the FO does his, the correct location will be there when the IRS is aligned. I think something to this effect was in the manual also.Damon
April 8, 200620 yr Commercial Member Damon is correct. You can also delete the FMC file from the location where the Situation files are stored. This is all documented in the manual.Cheers,Bryan B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
