Interesting idea - Suggestion

Featured Replies

Hi byork,Here's a suggestion:Have you seen the FSPassengers feature to quickly setup radios, altimeters, transponder and autopilot? you make a keypress and if you immediatly input 'numbers' those will be transfered to the 'device' you are trying to set up. So, it ocurred to me, to have FS2Crew do something like this:You setup 4 keys, for example. H, S and A for Heading, Speed and Altitude. So, if you quickly punch something like: S178 or H255 or A150The AFDS (using the SDK) will update the data and the copilot will reply back as if he was the one doing the input. Imagine a feature like this while flying VATSIM... Approach clears you to 1800, heading 263 and you quicly do a H263 A18 and voila! :) now... to make things REALLY fun you can use Free voice recognition software like Flight Assistant and program something like 'Heading' '2' '6' '3' which will be translated into H263 simulating perfect pilot copilot interaction.

Thanks for the idea. It's an interesting concept. The problem is if you hit for example "S178" when you hit S on your keyboard you will change views (VC cockpit to spot for example). The other issue is that in FS2Crew you're somewhat expected to fly like you would in real-life, which generally means max use of the automatics. In FS2Crew you are the PF most times, and when the autopilot is engaged the PF is usually responsible for changing headings, speeds and alts, etc., in the MCP.All the best,Bryan
