Aileron control

Featured Replies

HiProblem - when I put on full left aileron I get a 'wings folded' message coming up and in spot view I see the left wing spoilers(all) extend, I had the 'F' key assigned to wings fold(which in this case appeared to operate spoilers)I deleted this assignment but problem still there.Right hand aileron ok! I have set the ailerons using licenced fsuipc to no avail. Any ideas anybody?

Mine does that too - no idea why. It only happens when the Tinmouse is on the ground, so I don't worry about it. Once the airplane no longer has weight-on-wheels, left joystick deflection affects the ailerons, and nothing else, so I choose to look at it as a way to speed up the preflight checklist by testing two control surfaces at once. :DJohn G.

On Boeing aircraft, spoilers are used to augment roll control in flight. I'm not sure if it is the same arrangement for all Boeings, but from the 727 manual:'During the first ten degrees of control wheel movement, roll control is provided by ailerons only. After ten degrees, the flight spoilers on the down-wing side will rise an amount proportional to aileron movement.'Many types of aircarft have this feature, and if memory serves, the Mitsubishi MU-2 turboprop uses ONLY spoilers for roll control, as it employs full-length trailing edge flaps.JCH

The V1.24 beta gauge file should fix most of the spurious aileron/spoiler interactions. Please test and let me know.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile
