Was told to land on a "ghost" runway

Featured Replies

Hi all, I was flying last night from KSAN to KOAK on a Fedex DC-10-30 and all was great, until the approach, I was told to land on the visual runway 23 at Oakland Metro. I check in my FS airport directory and there was no runway 23 at oakland. Could there be something wrong with the AFCAD, or how do I resolve this issue? Thanks,Bill

you are using an afcad with crossing runways, and the only way to get the game to use runways with different headings at the same time is to create a bunch of fake runways between. So basically the way I have fixed it, is to open up the afcad editing program, select each fake runway (they are 10 feet by 10 feet and both sides closed) and change the lattitude to something far different, like instead of N23 I would make it N55 so it is so far away from the airport, the ATC would never assign it to anyone.

Thanks, I will try that out since the runways are closed for take-off and landings and ATC thought it was a good idea for a heavy MD-10 to land on a 10ft runway.Bill
