Classic liners vol 2 install??

Featured Replies

Anyone have any idea how to install this add-on? I purchased it and downloaded the files and the update. Running setup found in the zip appears to work but I dont see anything in the sim once I do this.Hornit

Are you talking about the Aerosim package? You post is not very clear. If it is the Aerosim Classic Liners Vol 2, then you should find the aircraft under the "Aerosim" heading in the aircraft menu.

Can one of you gents tell me what the Aerosim L-1011 uses for a nav database in its FMS? I'm wondering how it's updated.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

The FMS uses manual inputs of waypoints into the FS9/Gauges/AS_CL2/Routes *.*txt files. There is also an excellent utility called "PLN2AS", which automatically imports flightplans from *.*PLN format. The FMS can only store 42 flightplans, and the package comes with 42 already preprogramed plans. But you can ofcourse replace the already existing plans with your own plans. The manual which comes with the package explains in detail each sequence. The FMS has many functions. And I must say it is great fun to fly with it. :-)

Trust me guys I know where to find the bird! :) Its not there at all. I used the install after unzipping the download and it says it installs but nothing there, or anywhere on my hardrive. hmmmmm.yes this is Aerosims package, DC-8, L-1011, and DC-10.Hornit

Thanks Staffan. So what you're saying is that if you're given a flight plan change by ATC, you can't enter new points into the FMS?Hornit...do you have FS installed to a non-default directory? Could it be installed in the default FS directory on the C: drive?Maybe someone that has it can post the names of a couple files from the aircraft subdirectory so you can do a global file search for it. I'm betting it's hiding a couple levels down in a subdirectory somewhere.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VSantiago de Chile

Hornit - If it is installed anywhere, you should find the following folders (that should be in the aircraft folder):AS_DC8_53_CL2AS_DC8_61_CL2AS_DC10_30_CL2AS_DC10_40D_CL2AS_DC10_40_CL2AS_L1011_500_CL2AS_L1011_ADV_CL2AS_L1011_CL2

You can enter new waypoints on the keypad, just like the good old INS system. You can also select to go direct to choosen waypoints. The FMC even calculates VNav and ToD with the input data. :-)The important thing is to not compare the FMC in the Tristar with for example a FMC in a 744. The FMC in the Tristar is simply a very improved INS system.

Simply open up the "Data" folder, and install everything manually. :-)
