August 12, 200718 yr I think people will love this. These shots were taken during various stages of water blending/water mask development and are not representative of the final quality of the product. Bah, I am talking like a company PR spokesman here. Please notice that this is close to what you see in some commercial photoscenery packages, where water masks are usually generated by hand. These masks however, were generated with software and without human intervention. And it's still fast enough to be real time generated.ENJOY these 3 locations:Near Friday Harbour ( the colors a bit washed out unfortunately ) Dillingham Field on Oahu, Hawaii (no addons, except TP and an additional mesh)The coast near Marseilles sur Provence. I love that deep blue of the bay. Not how the rotor generates splashy rotor wash effects meaning this is NOT solid ground and you could sink the helicopter in it. Also notice the dithering of the alpha mask, which somehow tries to conceal the fact that the alpha channel only has a 4 bit resolution and would normally result in an ugly banding effect).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176546.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176547.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176548.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176549.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176550.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176551.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176552.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176553.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176554.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176555.jpg
August 12, 200718 yr Hello Christian,Wow, I am turning to blue, this is breathtaking :-cool :-cool and probably a reason to purchase FSX . How are the results with FS9?Keep on going,Hugo
August 13, 200718 yr WOW Christian... The last shot in paticular illustrates a superb dynamic blending and smooth transistion between the aerial textures and the water. This is fetchingly good. If these are only some "preliminary" results as you say, we're all in for a very nice treat. Excellent work. Stunning in fact. Thanks so much for posting the screenshots.
