August 25, 200718 yr Beta six works fine here. Certainly loads faster too. Thanks again Christian.bob
August 26, 200718 yr An update to this prerelease has been posted. It fixes the black tile issue and global water mask coverage and it adds support for a captcha entry window. Use the captcha_module and captcha_config lines correctly to enable this feature. Again, you'll have to "figure it out" on your own (the configuration part I mean) - it's really simple though. You will be given a web page with a graphical depiction of some letters and you have to enter the letters shown on the image. After that, you regain access to the service.I stongly believe this new captcha entry feature is not a circumvention of any copy protection. This feature merely allows you to prove that a human user is accessing the data and not some fully automated robot tool or web spider. Furthermore it uses a built-in mechanism offered by the service provider. This is based on a simple HTML display and browser cookies. No hacking or cracking of any kind was required. Merely presenting some previously obtained cookies to the service is required to restore access. Note that you might be giving up your anonymity because this uses a cookie that holds a unique user identity. In conjunction with your Mail account that you may have with this provider you might be giving out your identity. Not that it should be a problem... I just want to point this fact out. If you intend avoid this "privacy issue", you can completely clear your Internet Explorer cookie folder before using Tileproxy - or avoid the captcha feature alltogether.By the way I am aware of the North/South striping issues. It has hit me today on FSX RTM a couple of times. It never occured to me in FSX SP1 though. This will be the next major bug to address before completing the intended feature set for Beta 6.Christian
August 26, 200718 yr Oh, those who experience the vertical striping (north to south patterns with corrupted tiles). Would you try switching water_blending off temporarily to see if this cures the problem?
August 27, 200718 yr Thank you for the captcha, very useful. Can we use the captchaform.dll and the captcha codes with TP beta 5 ? It could be interesting until the new version of TP was usable. I have tried this new preview at Friday Harbour : still blurry :-( . The tileAPI put textures of level 17 at level 16, strange, isn't it?
August 27, 200718 yr With water smoothing instead of water blending, there is not stripes but it is blurry too...
August 29, 200718 yr On a short test flight over Fuerteventura (Spanish Island west of the African coast, belonging to the Canary Islands) I noticed a few glitches with the Beta 6 prerelease* A few tiles got corrupted when I got close. These tiles were always at the coast line, never inlands. This leads me to believe that a format switch from DXT1 to DXT3 or vice versa could be the culprit. The problem temporarily disappeared when I switched detail radius to medium, only to reappear later when I got closer to the coast on the opposite side of the island.* The captcha window only popped up for me once. The second time when it *should* have popped up it didn't. Instead the transfers kept failing. Duh. Will have to figure that one out.Still this version is not quite perfect. ;)
September 1, 200718 yr The v=17 in your module_config path string could be switched out against v=20 or better v=%v and stating map_version=20 in the service specific configuration.Otherwise.... this looks pretty bad ;(Christian
September 2, 200718 yr Thanks , i did two errors in the parameters .It works well now , but after a time , I still encounter this error ::-(
September 6, 200718 yr I seemed to notice something that may be of help. More testing is needed but everything seems to run fine until I hit the caching byte limit and the purging begins. Then all bets are off and even crashes FSX. Will keep you posted...FSX RTM / XP 32 / TP 6 Preview 2
September 6, 200718 yr Interesting! you can keep the limits high. I am not sure if specifying 0 disables the purging alltogether.Christian
September 6, 200718 yr With google , it end with a crash of TP .With Yahoo , it's better , but there are some problems :in example , flying over Paris :with such a result :my parameters :[Yahoo]cache_folder=....cache.service3network_module=libnettilemodule_config="conn=20|rate=1.0|verbose=0|server=http://us.maps3.yimg.com|path=/aerial.maps.yimg.com/img?x=%x&y=%y&z=%z&v=%v&t=a|useragent=Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)"min_level=9max_level=17map_version=1.5color_hack=Nocolor_level=0bulk_extend=25:-bluegrab
