August 9, 200817 yr >still no luck.>>did this bug ever get addressed? would like to check out>tileproxy. I have not tried anything since my post on this topic. Perhaps we could get some guidance from Christan or Ed on that. I have not tried any other versions and to be honest have been away from simming for a bit and don't know where we stand.
August 9, 200817 yr The screenshot that you posted on 6 March was weird - I believe that it shows many individual TP tiles missing from the lowest LOD levels, including at the centre where your a/c is. This would indicate to me why you are getting black screen at startup. I don't know why you are missing these individual tiles - and I have never seen this sort of thing before. Usually all the low level tiles load up at startup - and it is the higher detail tiles that are slow to load when you fly along. This only however results in "not-so-clear" scenery, which will clear up if you pause the Sim for a whileYou can see what I am talking about in the screenshot belowPlease post a copy of the content of your INI file here - plus details of your system including Internet connection speed.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/191349.jpg
August 10, 200817 yr I have a homebuilt machine running WinXP with all updates and SPs. It is running an AMD Athlon 2700 processor and has only 1 gb of RAM. My internet connection is a 6 mbit DSL. I don't have my ini file handy as I am posting this from my Linux box but I will be able to post it in the morning. It is the ini posted on the Quick Guide site by Ed Truthan. As reported above it runs TP 6 just fine but TP 7 fails with the black screen.Update. Here is the .ini . This is the last good one that worked for me. I know the map versions are not up to date. I tried the latest from Ed's site but it stalled forever at 37 percent when loading.## Start a line with # to comment it out.## Read the manual for help with configuration. August 10, 200817 yr HiSomething wrong with your INI file there - in a BIG way.It looks to me like an INI file with most of the important bits cut out. Also not the use of (( and )) in place of square brackets - these are only for this forum and the INI must have the square bracketsBarry
August 10, 200817 yr Just noticed your 2AM post - looks like you have it working now - that INI file you posted was all screwed up!Barry
