My Panelmod

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody, flying the great TinMouse 737 for a long time now, I thought I'd retrofit it abit... using ISG SIM Smith FMS / NAV Display and besides that only freeware gauges, I modified the panel. I made use of the newly-released 737-Classic Panel http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...CatID=fs2004pan which provided me with some usefull bitmaps and the Autopilot. All in all the TinMouse flys really nice in this combination - right now i'm working on a Landingview...What do you think?737cb7.jpgRegardsJohann

Johann_DC8 Hello! First, let me wish you a Merry Christmas! :( Your job is simply fantastic and beautiful! :( If you want good, of course, could you direct me to change the panel to obtain the same as yours in the photo? I'm not too good in the changes! Thank you for everything. Good Eve. Pascal, BELGIUM.

Hello Johann, first of all merry christmas and happy new year.your panel works looks interesting but if you ask to us about our opinions, according me, when you put CRT displays, it has been change character of 737-200. If you like to see "looks like 737classic", there are too many choises already -payware of freeware (I mean classics are include -300,-400,-500).Well honestly , I couldn't like with CRT displays in 737-200, sorry :) ofcourse some of people may likes. But, your new MCP looks nice. I cannot say "the most of tinmouse users" but I'm sure a lot of people expecting Sperry 177 A/P and MCP in future of tinmouse's. I hope codes would be usefull and may takes Bob's interest.

thanks... the MCP is not mine, as stated it's from the just released freeware 737-Classic panel... but I'm currently changing the Code, so that for example the LNAV mode activates the real LNAV from the ISG Sim FMS System. Yeah CRTs do change the character of the 737-200 but I guess this is also a matter of personal taste... I do fly both - fully analouge - and the modded one...

I've made that mod myself but found that it took away from the classic look & feel of the Tin Mouse. I made the mod because I'm having a really bad time trying to learn to use the Sperry 177. But I've decided to keep trying. I have to agree with Hakan737 I think.

Nice mod, Johann. I've asked the guy who did the bitmap for that MCP if I can use it as the face of a TinMouse Sperry 177 MCP. I already have the analog HSI in the 'mouse fully integrated with Ernie Alson's ISG FMS system. There are options for the Honeywell XLSGNS and the Smiths (without VNAV and other bells/whistles). I won't be supporting glass displays, though...I agree with those who say it takes away from the old, crusty, analog nature of the venerable B732. I'll probably integrate the Sperry 177 as an interface to the stock FS autopilot as an option. As for me, I still fly the 'mouse with the Sperry 77. It's a really unique old autopilot completely unlike anything else out there...if I want a full coupled auto flight system there are oh so many other add-ons I can fly. Version 1.25 of the TM2 panel should be released sometime in the next few weeks. Wanted to have it out before Christmas, but it was preempted by other things going on around the casa.CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Yes, great looking mod there, Johann, and that's good news about your upcoming release as well, Bob!

I've done similar mods; one with just the autopilot changed out and with the original HSI and ADI for the 'later' 732s, and then another similar to the picture above with the autopilot and the CRT displays changed for the classic 737s, with the integrated ND function. Works great - and a variety of panels for all of the earlier 737s right up to the NG series, all derived from the terrific TinMouse II!Many thanks again, Bob. :(
