Rick Piper's Chipmunk

Featured Replies

Has anyone been able to find/add the missing gauge in Rick Piper's Chipmunk?I love this little airplane, but the hole at the upper left corner of the VC is very distracting.. :(

Bert

The missing gauge is the 'G Meter', which I guess is not SP2 compatible. I don't know of any replacement though - I agree, it is distracting.

You`re right, Bert. I`m not running SP2, and have the g-meter sitting in place.

Interesting.. is there any reference to this gauge in the panel.cfg file, Vcockpit section?

Don't see anything, Bert - only one VC window in the panel.cfg, but here's the detail: [Window Titles]Window07=GMETER[Window00]file=chipmain.bmp size_mm=1280window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7visible=1ident=MAIN_PANELwindow_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000gauge00=SimIcons1024!Electrical Panel Icon, 277,931,19,19gauge01=SimIcons1024!Compass Icon, 298,910,19,19gauge02=SimIcons1024!Avionics Icon, 298,931,19,19gauge03=SimIcons1024!ATC Icon, 319,931,19,19gauge04=SimIcons1024!GPS Icon, 319,910,19,19gauge05=SimIcons1024!Kneeboard Icon, 277,910,19,19gauge06=chip!ICON_FUEL, 340,910,19,19gauge07=chip!Other Controls Icon, 340,931,19,19gauge08=chip!gyro_compass, 598,833,114,173gauge09=chip!Magneto, 190,916,56,68gauge10=chip!turn_slip, 784,826,126,122gauge11=chip!oil_temp, 954,736,84,84gauge12=chip!oil_pressure, 967,849,44,76gauge13=chip!Starter_button, 945,695,31,30gauge14=chip!Attitude, 567, 617 ,165,159gauge15=chip!RPM, 235,737,137,138gauge16=chip!generator_warn, 335,695,16,22gauge17=Chip!Vertical Speed, 791,677,110,111gauge18=chip!Airspeed, 385,675,144,144gauge19=chip!altimeter, 394,833,141,157gauge20=chip!Throttle Quadrant Prop Icon, 361,910,19,19gauge21=Cessna208!Avionics-Switch, 157,944,27,29gauge22=cessna182rg!Carb_Heat, 546,926,38,97//--------------------------------------------------------[Window07]file=Gmtrt.bmp size_mm=156,156window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0visible=0ident=160window_size= 0.110, 0.150window_pos= 0.320, 0.400gauge00=chip!G_meter, 27,28,99,99//--------------------------------------------------------And the only reference to VC is:-[Vcockpit01] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=32,32 visible=0 pixel_size=32,32 texture=$DUMMY gauge00=chip!CHIPMUNK_BRAKE, 1,1,1//-------------------------------------------------------The meter itself is part of the cab file inside the panel folder.

Hmmm, I wonder if indeed SP2 is the culprit. In that case, I'm cooked... until Rick Piper decides to revisit this really nice plane (Rick, are you reading this?)I can bring up the popup gauge, but the VC gauge must be buried inside the model code.My model is called FSDS3 DH Chipmunk.mdl 1,993 KB and dated 12/24/2006. Is yours different?

Bert

I've modded a couple of the bitmaps for the Chippie to fill the g-meter hole and also the one in the compass on the floor. The compass looks OK now, and works fine. There is a slight bit of texture "flashing", but it's better than the hole. The g-meter displays, but no needle :-( Better than nothing thoughchippie.jpgThe replacement bitmaps can be downloaded here: Chippie bitmapsUnzip and copy into each texture folder. (Backup the originals first )

Hi GuysI love this little aircraft, but haven't been able to find a complete download to run in FSX. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks
