I believe it is just announcing another set of aircraft add-ons, I do not believe this is anything to get overly excited about. I could however be wrong

The interesting phrase is Secured the Global rights to 6 FSX addons (paraphrasing here). What do they mean, rights from who? MS, Aces, another 3rd party developer? It's an addon why would they need "Global rights" to an addon? Is it possible the rights to FSX was turned over to them, and these 6 products are being developed to test the waters, if they were going to develop themselves the next version of FS? The first product the Hellcat is to be released in March, the company was only founded in November, With the development time for most payware addons (atleast the good ones) one year+, Who has been developing this product, before November?

There was a thread similar to this yesterday (now deleted as it seems someone joined the forums just to post the link which raised some eyebrows). I asked the same question tf51d asks in this thread--as to what is meant by "secured global rights", "expansion rights" etc. I also thought it was odd that the "Game Studios" logo appeared in the press release, which makes it seem it's a Microsoft Sanctioned add-on. 24 hours hasn't changed my mind since I last saw the link--I think it's still merely another add-on developer attempting to capitalize and place spin on the elimination of ACES--one I've never heard of in terms of MSFS add-ons. I'm with you John on this one. It is highly suspicious to be using Microsoft's logo and also stating that FSX is dead. Curious if they get a letter from a certain legal department.

I'm with you John and Zane...doesn't even pass the smell test. Like many here, we know many of the Aces Team Personally so it's likely we would have at least a whisper if this were the genuine item. :(

The Grumman Hellcat is/has been developed by realflight (google to find their site) and is available now for download from their site. In the link the OP provided the company is called "ReadFlight", a typo I presume. Mamba Games seems to be nothing more than another publisher and will probably end up publishing stuff by 3rd party developers. No doubt the "Global Rights" they secured are from these 3rd parties to release their addons.Congratulations Mamba on another bit of overhyped PR because that is one thing the world can never have enough of.

I would not attach any credibility regarding the future of Flight Simulator to any statement made unless it comes directly from Microsoft. As far as that goes, the powers that be at Microsoft did not just fall off a turnip truck. Any such decision and announcement would not be made until they absolutely had to...when the next version of the sim would actually be overdue. Don't think that time would come for at least a year, more like two.I think this is obviously a clumsy attempt from some publisher to promote themselves. However, since it bears the Microsoft logo, which is copyrighted, I intend to write a letter to Microsoft and ask them to confirm this. That should be more interesting.Tim DickensFSD International

I spoke with the founder and Project Manager of "Realflight Simulations" Dean Greasley via their forums,here is what he had to say about The MS Studios statement...."The Press release has somewhat been re-worded, the only connection with M$ is that the addons will be for FSX.We are still talking with Mamba over the Boxed version of our planned 6 titles over the 2 year period.Once the editors get their hands on press releases they tend to re-word the content to make it more appealing for the intended audience.
