Security overkill

Featured Replies

I had the same problem with trying to log in with my old name and password, so I made a new name and password, the only difference between the two is now it shows me as a newbie, but hell, I been messing with Flight Sim for over 10 years now and sometimes I still feel like a newbie!!! I don't know how many times I said "so that's the way to do that"!!!! And as far as Security overkill, I don't understand, I go to the site, type in my name and password and im in. Besides how can anyone ###### and whine about overkill after what happened!!

Actually, the "###### and whine" post was from last February, a very long time before the hacking incident... :)

Before 9-11, the issue of security was happily a middle-ground one, where most everyone would agree to disagree on most of its tenets. Since then, there sure isn't any middle-ground on the topic anymore: you're either all for it or all against it. Another sorry indicator of the human condition's gravitation to function outside an exclusive range, a.k.a. take sides or 'wax bipolar'. Silly humans...

And for us "curious" flightsimmers or possibly also real-life pilots, another consequence of 911 was the complete inability to even have a chance to visit the cockpit now, since all cockpits are supposed to be locked down... *sigh*And my interest in planes only started about 2 years after 911 so I never saw a cockpit in operation during a flight after my flight simulation began and corresponding knowledge increased... oh well.. :(John
