June 9, 200916 yr I had the same problem with trying to log in with my old name and password, so I made a new name and password, the only difference between the two is now it shows me as a newbie, but hell, I been messing with Flight Sim for over 10 years now and sometimes I still feel like a newbie!!! I don't know how many times I said "so that's the way to do that"!!!! And as far as Security overkill, I don't understand, I go to the site, type in my name and password and im in. Besides how can anyone ###### and whine about overkill after what happened!!
June 13, 200916 yr Moderator Actually, the "###### and whine" post was from last February, a very long time before the hacking incident... :) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
June 14, 200916 yr Before 9-11, the issue of security was happily a middle-ground one, where most everyone would agree to disagree on most of its tenets. Since then, there sure isn't any middle-ground on the topic anymore: you're either all for it or all against it. Another sorry indicator of the human condition's gravitation to function outside an exclusive range, a.k.a. take sides or 'wax bipolar'. Silly humans...

Silly humans...And for us "curious" flightsimmers or possibly also real-life pilots, another consequence of 911 was the complete inability to even have a chance to visit the cockpit now, since all cockpits are supposed to be locked down... *sigh*And my interest in planes only started about 2 years after 911 so I never saw a cockpit in operation during a flight after my flight simulation began and corresponding knowledge increased... oh well.. :(John I love flying my "iddy biddy Jumbo" CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, socket 775/3GHz/1333MHz bus/6MB cache MOBO: Asus P5E3 Deluxe WiFi-AP@n/Intel X38 chipset RAM: 4GB Kingston HyperX 1333MHz. rated 7-7-7-20, matched pair (2 x 2GB) GRAPHICS: Sapphire Radeon 5770HD 1GB (w/ fan) MONITOR: Samsung 24", 2494HM LCD wide-screen 1920x1080 SOUND: SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS HARD DRIVES: 1xWestern Digital WD1600JD SATA 160GB (primary/Windows XP and system boot drive) 1xWestern Digital WD3200AAJS SATA2 320GB (secondary/Flight Simulator 2004 running off WinXP Pro 32-bit, games video editing drive) 1xWestern Digital 500GB Black series SATA2 (Windows 7 64-bit: FSX is running off Win7; Windows XP Professional 32-bit) CASE: Antec Sonata III 500W OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit for FSX; Windows XP Pro 32-bit for other things.
