Breaking Effect

Featured Replies

Hello All,I use CH Pro Pedals and sometimes it takes a long time to stop the aircraft on the runway after landing. Is there a way to increase the breaking effect within FSX? (I have FSUIPC 4.40 installed).Cheers.HF

I always thought breaking in FSX was too aggressive. I know I've been able to drop an empty 747 onto Meigs field using only 1/2 of the runway, and doubt that would be possible in real life. lolBut Aerosoft does have this TRS Autobreak add on to better simulate the poor implementation of breaking in FSX. I think it will typically extend the breaking distance though, rather than reduce it. http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/ibosh...21776950,D10687

Yep i support fsx braking too hard, but that is only on default planes, some addon planes simulate a more natural braking , like wilco airbus. If the guy who started this thread is looking the increase the brake force, Go to aircraft.cfg and mess with the brake section there.

Look for this in the aircraft.cfg toe_brakes_scale = x.xxxAlmost all stock FSX AC are around 0.995 to 1.000You can try bumping it up at around .25 increments. It could also be your fuel and payload is still on the heavy side. Not that you can dump pax and cargo before landing but the fuel is another story. :-)

Many thanks to Daveo for his answer.HF

I have been pressing and holding button 1 for braking in FSX, but sometimes it seems to take ages to stop bigger planes. Last night, I noticed that the assignment is actually "brake/release". Does this mean that I should simply be clicking the Joystick button, and that the brakes will be on until I click it again?

Its called brakes/release because when the button is held it activates the joystick, and when the parking brake is on it releases the parking brake (Same thing happens in real life when you press the brakes when parking break set in some aircraft).
