Cannot add scenery in FSX

Featured Replies

What happens is I navigate to the correct folder but when I high lite and click okay it just opens the folder, it doesnt add the scenery at this point. It's a payware add-on for FSX, Blueprints new CYYZ, they do not have a forum of their own.Any help please, this has happened with other add-on scenery in the past so I know it's a FSX problem.
Not sure if this is the same problem I had but when adding scenery on my Vista machine it didn't appear in the add-on scenery list. I fixed it by right clicking (I'm left handed so I left click) on the scenery file I wished to add and select "properties" at the bottom of the list. Under "General" at the bottom in Attributes uncheck the "read only" box so it is clear like the "hidden" box. OK your way out and proceed as normal.Hope this helpsGary

Both unchecking the read only and then right clicking in an empty spot resolved this, thanx all!

:( This also worked for me, had the same problem unitll I read this post, thanks for the help people.

there is a known bug in FSX when adding scenery through the scenery library. When in the scenery library if the user selects the folder with the scenery in (located in the addon scenery folder) FSX simply opens the folder. When this happens simply click in the area where the scenery and texture folders are shown and the scenery is added.Tom

This is a known problem with FSX AND Windows 7:http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/6035-how-to-add-scenery-to-fsx-with-windows-7/

When it drops into the CYYZ folder, right click anywhere in the white pane. If its the same problem that I have adding any scenery, then it should add it to the library. Alex
THANK YOU! I had this problem and clicked, or double clicked, anywhere inside the folder on the white pane and it added it! Cheers!

I had this problem and your advice didnt work for me, what I had to do is open the scenery folder then click in the "look in:" drop list and select the scenery folders main folder, so if the scenery i was adding was say addon scenery/manchester/scenery i need to select the manchester folder from the drop list.

This bug also still is problematic in Windows 8 (mind you what isn't problematic in Windows 8?! :D).

You'd think MS would at least fix their own software so it works with their operating system especially as the bug seems to have been there since Vista!
