New FS2K4 Screenshots

Recommended Posts

Hi, Everything from those screenshots looks much more realistic than fs2002. Water, reflection, autogen and 3d stucture, 3d object, sky color, snow, rain, sunrise, weather :-)I have noticed raindrop on the helicopter windshield with 3d virtual cockpit, this was not available with any aircraft in fs2002..Ready To uninstall fs2002...ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs

Amazing - I can't wait for this to come out. As long as those beautiful new clouds don't cause a massive FPS drop, this is gonna be a great improvement over 2002.

Nice screenshots, the only thing that was a bit disappointing so far and I realise that it is still a beta is that in the first picture its raining and yet theres still a shadow under the plane and the plane was still lighted as if it was in full daylight and yet looks very overcast and misty. But with all the improvements thats only a tiny thing really. The water effects are looking nice though. The snow looks good too.Craig Kiltie

In one of the pictures, fs6.jpg with the DC3 I can see a trailer park ground texture. Dont know if theres autogen trailers though and also on the highway you can see exits coming off it.Craig Kiltie

looks like they have improved the road textures immensely, from just a grey strip accross the countryside, hmmmm perhaps 2004 will justify me buying a 21 inch monitor ;-)

Looks great, but isn't it a shame that MS still cannot model a 737 properly. 734's don't have conical engines!!!!!!!!

Interesting to see the blue taxiway edge lights and green taxiway centerline lights. Also the more clearly defineable highways/roads. Very nice IMHO.

What I especially like, apart from the weather/textures/autogen/water, is the way rivers seem to actually be obeying the laws of gravity! I don't see any water creeping up the sides of hills!!I want my copy.James

Looks like that is one of the hi-res detailed areas. Don't know where that is, though. Some place of interest, apparently.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in pics 1 and 2 are we now seeing ground splashing by the rain?And....could it be that perspective attention in 3D is now being given to the size and direction of movement of snowflakes - see pic 18? I think the general look of this latest version is shaping up to be another classic alongside the likes of FS2002.This is great - it's going to add a whole new dimension to our level of immersion and enjoyment :) On the downside, I also note evidence of delayed ground texture catchup in pic 5 - you know, the familiar blurring until the high res textures pop into view :( Wonder what spec system they used for this demo?Mike
