May 6, 200917 yr Posted this first on the FSX forum but was adviced to post it here.I am having a computer built because the ready made one from HP did not met the specifications recommended for FSXGot estimates from two diferent shops. From the first shop I haveVista Home Premium. May 6, 200917 yr Commercial Member I've seen posts like this by you all over the place... aerosoft, avsim, and everyone has given you an answer by now. What more do you want??????
May 7, 200917 yr Commercial Member Just get the cheaper one of the two, they will be identical in performance. If I were you I would perhaps try to get some sort of "extended support" thrown in FOR FREE from either shop, just tell the salesman that where you purchase depends on this and then stand your ground until they agree. It does not matter what manufacturer sells you the GTX275, they are all essentially the same. Just get the cheapest one.You are buying the right system for FSX with heavy addon use, that is for sure. No chance of wasting the 1600 euros so chill 'n enjoy! :( And do please read NickN's guides for both FSX and systems set up here BEFORE you install anything, the OS inlcuded. Your enjoyment of FSX and the fantastic graphics it offers will depend directly on your ability to follow these guides to the letter. Deviate at your own risk.Konrad Konrad

A simple dual will run it just fine if configured correctly...Not sure what you mean by configured correctly? Does this mean overclocked to 3.8GHz or more? And if so where is the simple (for the average user) in that? I also happen to know from previous posts that the OP has a lot of addons he wants to use with FSX and in this scenario recommending a dual core is not a good idea in my opinion. Konrad

On a 3850 vid card stock..That is also with no OS tweaks or FSX config tweaks..I lock frames at 35 and they hold there all day..Just did an experiment with FSX and all sliders maxed for the most part..Out of KSEA in Building Storms..22-28 on the ground and 33-35 in the air just after take off...I could have applied a TBM tweak but it was not really necessary..I do however not fly with those maxed settings...I find that FSX behaves very well on a dual core .... And on my 3850 card looks beautiful...
May 29, 200917 yr harleyman:there's no way you're pulling off those numbers at true "near maxed out settings" because I get only about 17fps on the ground at KSEA in bad weather with minimal traffic (10 percent) and there's no way your system is more capable than mine.
