May 29, 200917 yr Hello everyone, Glad Avsim is back!I have a question, I am currently doing PPL training out of the Opa Locka Airport in Miami FL, so I am flying patterns etc in a 172 on FSX to supplement my training and practice procedures/maneuvers etc.The airport is well done, but there is a north/south runway in FSX which is no longer in use also the ATIS information is ridiculously long, they use one rway for IFR and one for VFR in the real airport, and the ATIS gives multiple descriptions for each runway taking like 4 minutes when all I want is to hear the wind data again.Do you guys know of a ways I can change these, I don't know how to modify the afcad file but would be willing to learn if that is the solution. Thanks
May 29, 200917 yr ScruffyDuck's free Airport Design Editor should do the trick.Unfortunately, the online help is incomplete, you may need to do some exploring. At the bottom of this page you will find three tutorials.Tom
May 29, 200917 yr Fortunately, the current ADE (ver 1.40.8) will optionally install very complete pdf manuals in either/both English and German language. Note that you need FSX Deluxe, Gold, or Accell which provide the software development kits (SDKs) which are required. scott s..
May 29, 200917 yr The other thing you can do id speed up the atc. I use edit voice pack to update some things, The fsx version does cause some issues so i have fs9 on my machine, use the fs9 version to update the voices etc, copy the file to fsx then use the fsx version to speed up the atc voices, as it gives you more speed options, that may help reduce the long description. If someone has done cross wind runways , then atis will mention every runway ( in use or not) that was added bu the editor. its a stupid bug, you would think that if a runway was closed it wouldnt be mentioned, Must of being an oversite.
