FS Panel Studio

Featured Replies

I bought Panel Studio today primarily to get the Reality XP 430 into all VCs that do not have conflict issues with 3-D knobs but have complicated panel .cfgs. I would also like to spread the wealth of some of my payware quality guages into freeware airplanes.I read the docs, and the program seems intuitive. My problem is that finding the guages I am looking for is increasingly frustrating. I do not see any .cab files for the RXP GPS, just two DLL files. I managed to successfully put the 430 into a freeware Piper Turbo Arrow VC by modifying the panel.cfg before I bought FS Panel Studio, and it works great in flight. However it does not show up when the panel is opened in FSPS and when I try to swap it to other planes I get an error message saying "No bitmaps". The same goes for almost any guage I look for. They just are nowhere to be seen in the FSX Guages folder. Any ideas?Robert

RXP gauges aren't in .CAB files. They are compiled C .gau type files. Also, Jean-Luc takes some pains to hide the background bitmaps making it impossible to place 'em with FSPS.Whenever I encounter a gauge like that, I take a screenshot from the sim and create a dummy XML gauge using the cropped/resized image from the screenshot. After placing the XML gauge, I can the use FSPS to "swap" my dummy with the read version before saving.

Thank you for that information. I think I will take advantage of F1's return policy for the first time ever... placing RXP guages was the primary reason I bought FSPS and the method you describe to place them seems beyond my intelligence LOL...Thank you.Robert

Hi Robert,Make sure you have "Resolve DLL Dependencies" checked in the Options menu...I use FSPS to visually place RXP gauges all the time without any problems. RXP gauges have a "dummy" bitmap that appears when you place the gauge into a panel using FSPS and that allows you to re-size the gauge visually. Also.. make sure you have the most recent build of FSPS.. the latest build is 20340.- Alex

Ditto-no trouble here also places the rxp gauges. The "resolve Dll Dependencies" should do the trick.

I have found out that you need to place the rxpTdxp (if you are using the Flightline T range) into your root of FSPS. That should solve your problem.I am not sure whether this will work for the GNS gauges as well. The dll should have a similar name as mentioned above and you should try the suggestion above.

It took me a long time to check this thread again... I'm all set now.The final bit I had to figure out by myself was I just couldn't select "add gauge/RXPGNS.dll"... I had to select which GPS from the column to the right.Duh!!!Thanx to everyone who tried to help!Robert
