I understand that it wont be aligned right but it certainly is much better than flying in pure darkness over a major city...I am afraid the definition of photo scenery in FS9 compatible BGLs affects both day and night texture likewise. However Tileproxy could generate light masks for the night parts, that define some kind of lighting.I have started some CUDA programming to detect roads, buildings etc (pretty much anything with straight lines). I had intended to place lights along these lines, making cities appear lit realistically. Hower this work hasn't turned into anything usable yet.Christian
June 24, 200916 yr I'm using UTX, this way the textures are still dark but the streets have lights on them so cities will still light up! It is actually quite nice!
June 24, 200916 yr But what's the point of using Tileproxy at night anyway? If you want to fly at night, just turn it off and use the default. That's one of the really good things about Tileproxy. Being able to swith from map scenery to default without actually doing anything.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

June 30, 200916 yr Interesting. Any chance you could post a screenshot of this? Sure, i'll post one as soon as i am back home.
June 30, 200916 yr Hi,See for yourself!Note that i even have 'minor roads' (option in UTX) turned off, so you can even get lights (and cars) on the smaller streets if you like. dawn:day:dusk:night:
July 1, 200916 yr Author But what's the point of using Tileproxy at night anyway? If you want to fly at night, just turn it off and use the default.I fly international flights so I fly in both night and day. Having the interrupt flight simluator to change textures would break the immersion. Also, does UTX only work in the US?
July 1, 200916 yr Also, does UTX only work in the US?No, so far there is:Ultimate Terrain X - CanadaUltimate Terrain X - USAUltimate Terrain X - Europethey also add missing bridges and large highway ramps, pretty neat!
July 1, 200916 yr Note to self: must buy UTXIt's a nice feature for sure, it's just too bad the distance of the lights is not so far, especially when flying a little higher, and it seems thereis no way to increase that distance.
July 1, 200916 yr Very cool. Looks great. But as someone said, it would be nice to be able to expand the radius of the area where the lights are drawn.
July 2, 200916 yr expand the radiusTrue, that would be fantastic! I don't know whether the drawing distance is linked to the LOD_RADIUS but raising this to 8.5 will ask a lot of performance, especially when using tileproxy!Maybe somebody from UTX knows how to mod it!
July 10, 200916 yr I had a thought. What about a product that is just night lighting combined with Tileproxy? I was thinking of Ultimate Night Environment X. Anyone have this and try it with TP?If it's just night textures, one would think it should work over TP.
