Can You Please Not Move My Posts Unless You Ask Me First (What are we Recommending in a Defragger These Days?)

Featured Replies

I may feel that what I am posting is directly related to FS9, (not any other forum), and would like the common courtesy to have someone respond directly to anything that I post first, rather then have something moved where it might not be effective and might not be to the point. Wadda ya think?Mark

Aye! I felt the same way about my "which driver's best in FS9. Guess the powers that be decided it was hardware. I beg to differ. Though viewers can still see the post through the originating forum.

From the mod's perspective there's nothing FS9 specific about a defragger, but it certainly is a hardware question which comes up often and is of benefit to those who want to optimize their hardware. Such posts get buried so quickly in this forum. While you might not have answer as briskly as you wish, this is a community forum and the mods get the call as to where they think a post may serve best. I don't feel it proper forum decorum to title a public post:"Can You Please Not Move My Posts Unless You Ask Me First (What are we Recommending in a Defragger These Days?)"While others may applaud you, having been a mod here at one time it gets a tad annoying when members tell those who keep this place on an even keel how to manage the forums. Given the past several weeks I think they have quite enough on their plate. I'd cut them some slack and understand they provide you a service--not the other way around.Regards,John

Ah, interesting...well, there has been an entire discussion concerning the wishes of authors in my SKAI post. Many people appear to be adamant about allowing authors to decide what they will do with their content. People have had quite a bit to say about the fact that they don't want to be told the proper use of their content and yet someone decides what to do with mine? Mark

You should remember rhat you are a guest on this forum. It isn't yours. The mods are responsible for running it not you.

I don't wish to start a "flame-war" as such, but some of you seem intent on doing the mods jobs for them.

Isn't that what the OP is trying to do? The job of a mod by dictating where his posts get placed? Then making a public post when it isn't placed to his liking? Yes, there is a PM system, and the OP should have used it to voice his concerns. Unless you've worn the shoes of a mod in these forums, I would suggest you not be too critical of what they provide you (on their own dime) nor of those who have an empathy for their work here.

In a way, I must admit, I do agree with you. Though, since there is not really any other category that this thread correctly fits, I would personally think it is fine where it is.EDIT: also to be fair, OP, The Constant Capitals At Each Word Are Driving Me Insane And Are Impossible To Read

The mods are responsible for running it not you .... yes?Your words not Mine.

It's a hardware question--the best tool to perform a defrag. Since when is a hard drive's defrag solely linked to FS9? Liked your Edit. Reminds me of a short story I read--"Flowers for Algernon", where the principal of the story was learning punctuation for the first time. He, liked put, a comma, after, every, other, word. :)

And yet you do not find any issues with the original posts, where the author is trying to be a mod and dictate where his posts end up? How about we just agree to have anarchy and let things fall where they may?

Nope, it isn't my bag John. Now could we possible get on with helping out the person who posed the question?thanksJoePSNotice I didn't use many commas? I wouldn't want to cause you any needless discomfort.if that makes that point I'm trying to make (did make)
