June 27, 200916 yr Does anybody know where to find Cabin announcements for Westjet airlines? Or how could you create your own announcements?Use the FDSFX panel as mentioned in the previous reply.I don't know about announcement files for Westjet, specifically. But, to create your own, all you need to do is get a microphone for your computer and some audio recording software (I'm sure there's some good freeware ones out there, might even be something that works that comes with Windows, I've never done this so I don't really know what to recommend), and record each announcement as its own .mp3 or .wav format file, then follow the instructions with the FDSFX panel to assign the audio files to the appropriate buttons. Declared weather: FSX: ASN / FS9: ASE
June 27, 200916 yr Many of us use the fine, free audio editor named Audacity -You can check it out here:http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
June 28, 200916 yr Hello there I would recommend Martyn Becker's AutoEnvironment v1 for FS9.This has all sorts of things you can add to an aircraft(i will let you suss those for your self)but one of the add ons is is auto cabin. This is a series of cabin announcements that will trigger at certain points in the flight ie safety message as you taxi, crew prepare for take-off,V1,V2,ROTATE,Ten thousand feet call out at (you've guessed it ten thousand feet)etc etc I like these as they are automatically generated. There are other programs as mentioned in the other posts, but I always felt they where rather unrealistic as you had to manually select each file at the appropriate time,to much fiddle faddle foo for me.If you are happy editing CFGs etc then its pretty simple to add Martyn's auto-cabin.cheers Andyps its worth checking the other parts of this suite as well, there are all sorts of things to add to aircraft.i.e autoland if you want that, autovortex etc etc

I have pressed SHIFT + 1 to 0, but did not get it...????????I suspect you made an error when editing the panel.cfg file -For the default b737-400 it should look like this (additions in Bold type)[Window Titles]window00=Main Panelwindow01=Radio StackWindow02=GPSwindow03=Throttle Quadrantwindow04=Overhead Panelwindow05=CompassWindow06=Mini PanelWindow07=FlightDeck SFX Paneland after [Window06] and before [VCockpit01] you should have the following:[Window07]file=FDSFX.bmp size_mm=500position=0visible=0ident=122757gauge00=FDSFX_01_gate!switch, 49,89,30,51gauge01=FDSFX_02_airport!switch, 111,89,30,51gauge02=FDSFX_03_muzak1!switch, 174,89,30,51gauge03=FDSFX_04_muzak2!switch, 235,89,30,51gauge04=FDSFX_05_muzak3!switch, 295,89,30,51gauge05=FDSFX_06_turbulence on!switch, 357,89,30,51gauge06=FDSFX_07_turbulence off!switch, 419,89,30,51gauge07=FDSFX_08_gate departure!switch, 49,190,30,51gauge08=FDSFX_09_pushback!switch, 111,190,30,51gauge09=FDSFX_10_safety message!switch, 174,190,30,51gauge10=FDSFX_11_safety video!switch, 235,190,30,51gauge11=FDSFX_12_takeoff!switch, 295,190,30,51gauge12=FDSFX_13_climb!switch, 357,190,30,51gauge13=FDSFX_14_cruise!switch, 419,190,30,51gauge14=FDSFX_15_meal service!switch, 49, 298 ,30,51gauge15=FDSFX_16_movie!switch, 111,298,30,51gauge16=FDSFX_17_begin descent!switch, 174,298,30,51gauge17=FDSFX_18_on approach!switch, 235,298,30,51gauge18=FDSFX_19_on final!switch, 295,298,30,51gauge19=FDSFX_20_taxi to gate!switch, 357,298,30,51gauge20=FDSFX_21_gate arrival!switch, 419,298,30,51Double check your panel.cfg and see if it matches the above.Shifted 7 or 8 should display the new window with the Cabin Announcements panel. The numbers in question are the ones above your keyboard - not the numbers on the keypad to the right.Keep us posted.
September 5, 200916 yr Just a PS to my previous rely -Afeter installing the Annoucements package properly, I find it much "easier" to call the Cabin Announcements panel using the Icon method as described in the documentation:Add the following (the BOLD line) in the gauges section under [Window00]gauge38=SimIcons!Map Icon, 208, 10gauge39=SimIcons!Avionics Icon, 222, 10gauge40=SimIcons!GPS Icon, 236, 10Gauge41=FlightDeckSFX!Icon_FlightDeckSFX, 167,10,12,12Gauge 41 is the next available number in this section of the panel.cfg so that is what was used. Also do not forget to place a copy of the file named FDSFX.bmp into your Panel folder for the default b737-400. That is an important step which is easy to overlook.Hope this is helpful.
