Better than anything they released before.FYIDanI recently received an e-mail from FSD stating that they were back in business. Their e-mail also statedthat they realized that in the past they had promised "upcoming" products and didn't deliver. It looks to me like nothing has changed. They deliver the YF23 and two products (the Jetstar and Mitsubishi) are still in development. Sorry FSD but when you deliver on products that have been"upcoming" for a year or more perhaps I'll purchase some more from you.Craig
July 1, 200916 yr We appreciate your disappointment, which we share. We really do, but throwing ca-ca at us isn't the answer. We have explained this elsewhere, but let me explain the situation again. I'm glad to do so, and hopefully you'll then understand why and how things have transpired this way. To begin with we are not in the least little bit happy that the MU2 and JetStar have dragged on this long. We know we've disappointed some of you with the delays. The basic problem is that these are now quite old designs designed using obsolete software that may still be OK for freeware, but gmax really is not good enough for complex current commercial products. Gmax designs just don't cut the mustard and haven't for some time. Some designers have been using 3DSMax for years. The C421 by Roger Dial, which I worked on, as I recall used it back in FS8/FS2002. The JetStar and MU2 gmax designs didn't import as viable mesh projects the into the current design software and whilst we could release an FS9 JetStar using yesterdays design tools it would be a vastly inferior product to what it should be. People expect state-of-the-art designs from commercial developers. The F23 is by any measure a real state-of-the-art design, you've only got to look a screen shots to see that. From here on we are no longer going to be offering anything less than state-of-the art designs. Products designed for FS9 may work OK in FSX but they don't do so without the odd limitations which for many aren't even detectable. Still, they don't port over anywhere near as satisfactorily as Microsoft promised they would, and any developer will tell you the same thing. You can aways tell a gmax design in FSX in an instant and if it ain't a mesh design then it ain't state-of-the art regardless of whether it's a true FSX SP2 DX10 design or not. The fact these two projects were designed in gmax presented fundamental problems that simply could not be overcome. The good news is that JetStar is already in the process of being designed from a clean sheet as an all-new mesh project by really sharp designers that do incredible 3D designs in their sleep. You can't get around the gmax limitations and the visual sophistication you can create with mesh designs not subject to gmax's limitations are plain to see. If you want to see how good a design can be created for FSX, you've only got to have a look at the F23 images posted here and elsewhere. We're sorry things have worked out this way with these two designs, and we regret your frustration. We really do. And you know what ? We share it, please don't imagine we don't. We'd have much rather released these long ago and whilst we could have, they'd have been lesser projects that would not have compared to some of the other slick designs we have seen of late.Hope this helps explain. Best,
July 1, 200916 yr Moderator I bought the YF23 and I'm 'basically' happy with it. I say basically because the only thing I'm having a problem with is the AP. She flies and handles well and is a beautiful model but , for me, the AP isn't stable.I set it up for alt and heading OR waypoint and it starts out just fine - maintaining alt and heading - then at some random point with no reason, the a/c will start a slow turn left or right away from the heading, sometimes doing a wingover. Other times it will start a climb and keep going up until it stalls If I let it go it will crash.I fly with ASA and TrackIR.FWIW, since this seems to be the same AP as in the FA-18 - I do not have that problem with the FA-18.Other than that, so far so good.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
