June 28, 200916 yr Hello again, Being a FNG, I am still feeling my way and once again I have a problem that is probably obvious, but not to me. In the Electra L10 VC, parts of the panel are missing. The gauges are all there, but the panel itself is missing. How can I fix this? The 2D cockpit is fine. Please and thanks up front, Fritz
June 28, 200916 yr Two explanations are either:Your graphics card is running out of memory when loading that aircraftYou graphics card is incompatible, or not using the correct settings, for the texture used in the panel. There is a fairly detailed explanation of matters similar to this on the following review I did for AVSIM (about a third of the way down the review, look out for a screenshot very similar to yours): http://www.avsim.com/pages/0309/FirstClass/80.htmObviously that is a different model to yours, although coincidentally it appears to be the same type of aircraft, but the explanation in that review (and a possible solution) may be of interest.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 28, 200916 yr Looks like the mask in the model file for the vc is not being processed correctly. SP2 and/or Acceleration seem to have problem withs certain aircraft, or it's the aircraft itself. In the aircraft's panel.cfg file you might try changing the background_color values under the VCockpit01 heading. Example below show values 0,0,0. You could try something like 15,15,15.BACKUP your panel.cfg file before futz'n with it![VCockpit01]size_mm=1024,1024pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$A321_1background_color=0,0,0BUT if the problem is only with the popups then change the values withing that popup's definition. These popups are also in the panel.cfg file.
June 29, 200916 yr Have you been messing about with your FSX.cfg file? Texture bandwidth for example?John
June 30, 200916 yr Author Hello, Thanks to all for the tips. I have done nothing to any .cfg files or to any files. All other aircraft work fine and I am leery of changing things just for one plane. Too bad, it's a nice one. If there are any more ideas, they would be welcome. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS video card with FSX and Acceleration running on Vista, if that gives anybody an idea. Thanks again. Fritz

Thanks again. FritzChanging the background color in the 5 vcockpitxx sections from 0,0,0 to 55,55,55 works ok. Problem is, the middle panel extends beyond and above the panel. It's livable, though. The props are also messed up, when you look through them, you can't see objects, you can see the landscape but not objects (i.e. trees and stuff). Kind of disconcerting. I'm trying to remember how to fix them (as opposed to finding prop texture to replace them with). Tom Perry
