RXPGNS into Carenado Seneca?

Featured Replies

Anyone been able to get the Reality Xp GNS into the Carenado Seneca? I get a crash everytime I try to put it in using fs panel studio.

Could you just exchange the gns530 gauge for the default gps in the panel.cfg?

Yeah-but it crashes the sim-at least on my rig.

Go through your aircraft.cfg file again. Are you absolutely sure you've eliminated all the references to the original GPS? If so much as one tiny reference to it is still hidden away somewhere, that'll cause a crash.

The references to gauges and panels are defined in the panel.cfg file, not in the aircraft.cfg file.

I tried manually editing the file instead of using FS panel studio. However, now what I got was a non functioning fs gps -when clicking on it the reality xp one pops up-and then crashed the computer. Perhaps it will not be able to be used with the Seneca? It would be awfully nice if they did what Real Air did for the Duke..

Congrats on getting everything worked out on the panel, Geofa. What was the mislabled item that you had to delete? I plan to add my RXP to the panel as well.Separate question....how do you like the autopilot that comes with the Seneca II. Is it a Century IV? If so, does it emulate a real world Cent IV (I believe I read in one of your posts over the past year that you fly with a Cent IV or have in the past).Best,

Do you have fs panel studio? Was easy to find the item to delete with it-not so easy with notepad. Let me know and I'll send you the cfg.No Cent IV on the Seneca-but on the Just Flight Duchess. Not full functioning but getting close...

I doubt I will jump at this aircrfat right now, as my 'twins' collection is servicing me just fine right now, but out of curiosity, as Carenado seems to be moving towards 3D knobs in some of their newest releases, do they also exist in the Seneca? And if so, which 'radio' units contain them? Or not?Seems there is more freedom within this panel vs what was provided in the 172, as example.

Thanks Geofa. I do have FS Panel Studio but have gotten fairly comfortable editing panel.cfg using notepad. Thanks for the offer to email the file. Let me take a stab at it first and I'll howler for help if I need it.New question - anyone know an FSX plane with a functioning Century III autopilot?Best,
