June 28, 200916 yr Hi,I have recently started flying again in FSX but whenever I am having problems turning. When I move my joystick to the side the yoke in the VC moves at the same time but then there is a delay before my plane moves. This is especially problematic during taxing as I am unable to follow taxiways instead I zigzag from side to side. It also makes last minute corrections to line up with a runway trickyI have autrudder enabled and am using a Saitek joystickAny advice/help much appreciated.thanks
June 28, 200916 yr Commercial Member Just a thought, but check that your control sensitivities are set to max for your control surfaces.
June 29, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hmmm, perhaps also check your null zones, but that shouldn't be a factor.Rudder coordination on or off? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

You should be using the rudder to turn, not ailerons. If it doesnt, try using the KB commands, 'Numpad 0' and Numpad 'Enter' and see if that works better for you.

June 30, 200916 yr Author It just seems that the elevator controls are so much more responsive. When I pullback my plane instantly starts rising but when I turn it takes a while to bank. Maybe that is normal and as real life?Jon

Maybe that is normal and as real life?JonThat depends on a lot of factors, but in general, the elevators in FSX are way too sensitive. For taxiing, use the rudder only, its also connected to the nosewheel. For turning while flying, use a combination of aileron and rudder and try to keep the 'ball' centered in the TnB indicator with the rudder for a cordinated turn. Once you have the bank angle established, you can add a little elevator to maintain altitude.
