Its still an active project, they posted some exterior screenshots on in late May.See this thread in the unofficial forum for a few screens from Pierre.http://www.virtualavia.com/alphasim/e107_p...opic.php?1054.0I worked on the MFD displays and,MCK, MCD (or FMS) ages ago, but they recently asked me to re-do the HUD, so there's definitely development activity going on.I still have the early prototype, and even in that early state its was pretty nice. I really do hopeit gets completed and released I think people would like it.I wish I could give you more info than that, but that's all I know, they are pretty tight lipped over there at AS.Regards.Ernie.

  • 2 months later...

Half of it (the visual model + sounds) was released on October 1st; the virtual cockpit and avionics are supposed to follow a few months down the road.http://www.alphasim.co.uk/as_showcase_c-17.html

I am glad to see some development in the C-17 project. It seems like years since it was first announced at AS. They say the VC is a few months down the road from being released. I think they said the same thing about the plane when they first announced they were going to make the C-17. The exterior looks great, but I wish they had posted some interior shots of the cargo bay with their screenshots. Will there be an extra charge for the VC when it is released? If so, $58.75 US for an aircraft that has a 2D cockpit is an awfully steep price, IMHO.

IIRC, they said the VC would be a free upgrade for people who have already purchased.IMO, it still costs too much....but cost I guess is relative. lol

But we've heard such stories before, haven't we? Everyone learns his own lessons and governs his own money anyway.
