Can i get more fps with better gfx-card than gf9600gt

Featured Replies

I own a Geforce 9600 GT and a [email protected] ghz and today i noticed that the smaller the resolution was the better fps i got - and thats actually new compared to my old E6850. So my question is - will an improved graphics like a GTX 275 - will that give me better fps or will just stick to exactly the same?

The card might be fine but take that 9650 and overclock it to 3.8 or 4.0 and use the native resolution. Although you get better FPS with non native resolution you are sacrificing quality.

I actually think buying a faster one would help a little. What resolution are you running? If you're already running a large res like 1920x1080 or something then yes the better card would help. But if you're still at 1024x768 I'm not sure how much improvement you'll see

How much memory is on your 9600? If it is less than 500 MB, then, yes, a new graphics card will show some improvement, or will at least allow you to bump up your display settings.

If I was you, I would stick with the card you have. A new GTX 280 card will not improve your fps. It will just allow you to set higher resolutions for larger monitors. Flight Simulator is cpu depended, not graphic card bound.Bill M
