Rudder/ Taxi problem

Featured Replies

Hi all .. Just purchased the MD11 and really enjoy the aircraft. Almost completely working 100% except for one little detail. The plane taxi's a takes off fine and fly's great but when I land it goes straight down the runway until I fall below 60 kts and turn off Rev thrusters. As i slow down it suddenly starts to pull hard right. The rudder pedal goes right to the floor rudder is hard over and I have to almost give it full left to get off the runway. checked the brakes ect to make sure its not over heated and tried settings both in fsx controller settings and also in fsuipc both do the same thing. This happens with every landing and other aircraft are not affected.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciatedPeterMSI P35 NEO-FR / E8400 oc @ 3.8G / 4GB DDR2 1066 /MSI 8800GTS 512 OC edition/ Win XP HomeFSX Sp2 / UTX / FEX / GEX / RC4 /CS WX / FSGenesis / FSpassenger /FS Commander/Fsuipc/Fs wide

The autoland is trying to keep you on the centerline. Disconnect the A/P (press twice to silence alarm).

Hey Peter, did you disconnect the autopilot in the 'roll-out' phase? It is required that you disconnect "charlie" :( , (the autopilot), after activating reverse thrust, or it will continue to 'track' the ILS. The perplexing aspect with your query is that you mentioned that 'it pulls hard right', when it should be tracking the center line, i.e: the ILS. Give us more details with respect to your destination airport and landing runway. It would also be helpful if you mentioned whether it is an addon scenery so that similar tests can be done. Top notch system, BTW !!Regards,Godfrey G. :(

If you're not landing autoland it could also be a problem I have had with my rudder pedals and joystick where in essence the control inputs spike out of the zero range and cause extreme inputs sent to the sim. I have found that unplugging and perhaps restarting the computer before plugging them back in get rid of this, otherwise you might find going to the control panel and increasing the dead zone could get rid of these spikes.

Just an FYI, there has been many posts/discussions on this topic. Doing a search should also be very helpful. :(

Thank you all for your help indeed it was just a matter of disconnecting the autopilot on landing that was causing the problem. Much appreciated Peter
