Tongass fiords, raising the bar

Featured Replies

I have seen very little about this new addon scenery anywhere, and for the life of me I can't understand why. Since getting it a week ago, I have flown nowhere else, it's that good. The only problem I have with it is that is is so good, it spoils the rest of the FS world for me. I made a few flights running FAWidgets Google map while flying the fiords, and I swear every rock there is modeled. It transforms FSX to what I have always looked for, total reality with the scenery. Coupled with my other FSX 'must haves', it is absolutly incredible. If you want a 'as real as it gets' experiance, I suggest you grab an 'amphib' and go explore. Add in real world weather and prepare to be blown away.http://secure.simmarket.com/fsaddon-tongass-fjords-x.phtmlHere is one screen shot of a glacier with icebergs, since I have to lower the res to have it fit here, it's obviously not as good as it could be, but it give you an idea. Unfortunatly there is no way for me to let you hear the seagulls at the marinas, or the boat engines running, while taxxing through the channel markers to the harbors :(

Just finished my four leg trip from Ohio to Prince Rupert B.C. to get to the edge of 'Tongass'. Now, I get to climb in my Scout (both tundra and amphib) and go exploring for a while :( I've been looking forward to this.

An AVSIM Review of Tongass Fjords is on its way (not by me, though)! If you did not know, the same crew that made AVSIM Gold Star Of Excellence winner Vancouver+ and freeware Victoria+ made Tongass Fjords. They made a spectacular version of Tongass some years ago for FS9, as well as Misty Fjords. Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

The entire Alaskan series by Holger and associates was/is an FS9 classic. I spent hours exploring cabins and small towns in Tongass and Misty Fjords. One of the best scenery packages ever IMHO. I'll be buying the FSX version soon. Bob..

Every simmer enjoying VFR/bush flying should get Tongass Fjords. It's excellent scenery. I also got Vancouver+ I recommend them both!

And you don't have to pay any reactivation charges :( :( :(

If you think that's great scenery, and IT IS, you have to check out Orbx:http://fullterrain.com/I fly a lot in the YPEC area. You do need the add-on airports and this can be a bit expensive, but if you want the VERY BEST scenery experience or want to get spoiled some more, then check it out.Jose

What is the elevation mesh points/meter? Used to be limited to 30 meters between points in Alaska.
