July 29, 200916 yr Hi folks, first post here.I have had Birds Eye View (USA, summer volume) for a while, and just recently I got Ultimate Terrain USA. The roads and everything look fine. But my autogen scenery from BEV is almost non-existent now. At first I figured it may be because the roads from UT now seem to outweigh the textures/autogen. But then in the UT configurator I turned off residential roads and a few other options but I still have the same problem. Rather than having good autogen and well-aligned textures as I once had, roads just overlap flat textures. There are now very very few autogen buildings, varying from area to area. Is there a method to get the two programs blend together a bit better? Also, I should add that I also have Ground Environment (which I had before I discovered BEV). Maybe that would work better with UT? It'd be a shame though; I really love Birds Eye View. Thanks,Michael

What happens if you turn off the night lights as well?, well thats if you haven't already.Craig
July 29, 200916 yr I have the full BEV package and also UT and have tickered around with the residental roads and other settings in the UT configurator without it affecting BEV. But unlike you, I installed BEV AFTER I had installed UT. It appears you installed UT after using BEV and maybe something from UT overwrote the BEV files. If I were you, I would reinstall the BEV files and see if that fixes the issue.PS: I also used to use GE Pro before both UT and BEV. But I like BEV way better than GE Pro and wouldn't go back.

I'll try uninstalling both, then reinstall UT first. And I should add, not ALL of the BEV files are gone. They're still active. I still get plenty of autogen trees. Just far less buildings and houses (but still some).PS: I also used to use GE Pro before both UT and BEV. But I like BEV way better than GE Pro and wouldn't go back.I agree. I briefly reverted back to GE just to see how it looked, and it's no match. But still useful for non-USA/Canada flights.Hi Michael. What happens if you turn off the night lights as well?, well thats if you haven't already.CraigI am very happy with the way it looks at night. The UT lights seem to just add to the already great-looking BEV lights. :( Would turning off night lights really effect how it looks during the day? (Guess I'll try and find out :()
July 30, 200916 yr Author ckukmale, that was the problem! I just unselected residential lighting and a few other things and the buildings came back. So problem solved. Thanks!
July 30, 200916 yr ckukmale, that was the problem! I just unselected residential lighting and a few other things and the buildings came back. So problem solved. Thanks!Glad to see it fixed. I do now remember that the more residential roads and lights you have, the less autogen is done because FS9 does not place autogen on road-designated tiles. That's in the UT documentation.

July 30, 200916 yr Author Orgone1/Tom, I believe I unchecked residential roads, residential lights, and tunnel lights (I'm sure this is all unaffected by tunnel lights, but I digress). I kept enhanced lights checked, but if you're flying during the day, I'd go ahead and disable all night lighting (when you run the texture configurator in UT, check 'no street lights'). I didn't actually disable night lighting completely, but I'm sure it'd give even more room for optimum BEV looks. I have yet to try that out.For nighttime, just reactivate the street lights, but I still keep residential lighting off. You can turn it on if you want; autogen buildings and ground textures are less prominent at night anyway. Though IMO, BEV has pretty nice night lighting that will suit your residential areas and look good with the UT highway/road lights.Michael
