August 6, 200916 yr Hi allI am new to the PMDG product so please bear with me.I have recently been given the 737800/900 as a birthday present and loaded into my PC a couple of days ago.Everything seemed to be great until I picked airfields with shorter runways. I have not been trying changing loads, FMS settings etc. just flying the beast to get a feel for it. So I thought I'd take it home to where it was born at Renton and have found that I can't get the beast off the runway, no matter which flap settings I use. Surely out of the box the aircraft will be set at a flyable settings for those who don't want to mess around with manuals to get started!!!According to the FMS the takoff power setting is at 22KN1 and flaps at 15

August 6, 200916 yr Agreed with the posts above, this add-on requires reading before flying it, (I remember a lot of incidents on my first times! :( )I also noticed that you say you have 22K as thrust, this means it's derated and won't really get a loaded 738 (or 739) off the ground from a 5000 or so runway :( Once you get the grips with this aircraft though you'll love it, it's a real joy to fly automated or manual. Definitely the best NG out there. Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...

Definitely the best NG out there. My sentiments exactly, showed it to a friend of mine, planned a short route, then deviated from it and flew back to the origin EDDK fully manual and all went absolutely perfect!!BestHolger Holger Kneib

August 6, 200916 yr Author Information shortage there...Are you using the autothrottle and TOGA button for takeoff or pushing the levers manually?Have you selected any derated takeoff or assumed temperature? And, what about the trim?. Even with max power, if the aircraft is not correctly trimmed you may not be able to leave the ground.Thats another thing I can't find the TOGA button. Where is it located.I guess I need to print and read the manual.
August 6, 200916 yr Thats another thing I can't find the TOGA button. Where is it located.I guess I need to print and read the manual.Definitely a good idea!! :( Still, don't hesitate to ask us here if you have any questions :( The TOGA button is the little screw on the MCP on the left of the Course window.EDIT: Make sure you sign your posts with your real name per forum rules.
