Menus down't work in full screen

Featured Replies

Hi,as the title says... suddenly, my menus (and FSNav) don't work anymore in fullscreen mode. The only change I made was installing Rise of Flight and with it, .NET 3.5. I have latest DirectX9c, nVidia drivers 181.20 for my GeForce 9800GT which I have been using since they first come out. I have no idea what could have caused that. I reinstalled video drivers - to no avail. I am using nHancer to set up everything... never had any problems...Any ideas, please?Regards,Jure

What do you mean by they don't work? As in they don't show up? (pressing ALT will fix that) or even when pressing ALT they never come up?

I had problems with supersampling anti-aliasing enabled, going back to multi-sampling fixed them.

And pressing 'Alt+Enter' will push display into 'Full Screen' if you are in 'Windowed' mode.Chuck BNapamule

I should've explained better... when I press the Alt key, menus will show but I cannot choose anything. Wherever I move the mouse, nothing happens. Same with FSNav after pressing F9. The display is frozen, it does not move or change although underneath it works, as I just discovered. If I press F9 to get out of FSNav and then F9 to display it again, it will reflect whatever I did in the previous session by pushing and shoving the mouse around blindly. Regards,Jure

Problem solved! :(I tried nVidia 182.50 drivers to no avail. Lost a few FPS, there was more shimmering and still menus wouldn't work in full screen. I installed latest DirectX 9.0c (March 2009), good old Forceware 181.20 and without opening nHancer I went straight to FS. Menus worked! In the end it turned out that if in nHancer I change AA combined 4xS to AA combined 8xS, menus and FSNav work normally in FS full screen. Go figure! :( But the fact remains that RoF installed an older version of DirectX. It refused to work otherwise, but now, with the newest DirectX, it still works! Go figure once more! Ah, the joys of computing... :( Regards,Jure

glad to hear it worked out. Never heard of 182.5 giving anyone problems. May I should try out the 181 drivers :(

Thanks, funny, yes. I haven't touched anything in FS or nHancer... anyway, I am back to 181.20, they seem the best drivers for my 9800GT. By far. Hopefully things will work now. :( Regards,Jure
