HelloI just ordered a PC specs below to use for FSX. I need to tell them which RAID configuration I require but I am not sure what to ask for. The objective is the best performance for FSX.I have tried to understand the best solution by reading variuos forums but as I am not a teccy I can not work it out.As you can see from the spec I have a 500GB Drive and a 150GB Western Digitial Velociraptor which will just be used for FSX.Should I have a RAID configuraion or should I not worry about RAID.Any suggetsions would be greatly apprciated.System OverviewCustom Coloured Cases: *No Custom Colour Required*Case: Silverstone TJ09B-W Black Aluminium Full Tower Case inc Side WindowCPU: Intel i7 920 2.66Ghz 4.8GT s QPI @ 3.8Ghz+ with 20% OC (D0 Step)CPU Coolers: Corsair Cooling

You will need a second drive of the same kind to do RAID0. Although I do have RAID0 on my OS 7200 drives, everything I have read says that the only improvements you will see are in loading times. I wouldn't bother with it and I doubt I will set it up that way on my next rig. With the two drives working as one, if one goes bad you loose everything.

Unless you plan on buying a seperate RAID controller ($350) - you will get NOTHING from any RAID setup as far as FSX goes.Skip it. Read the following thread.http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=246337Vic

That's really good to know. Using my onboard RAID controller could be the source of some problems I have experienced. It looks like I'm NOT going to be doing that with the next system.
