August 16, 200916 yr Attention Detroit Area SimmersThe bi-ennial Selfridge ANGB Airshow is the weekend of August 22 and 23. The headliners this year are the USAF Thunderbirds. More info on the show is available here: https://www.selfridgeairshow.org/If you're interested in meeting fellow simmers during this event, meet up near the starboard wing of the B52 around 1 PM Saturday. That aircraft should be on the static display ramp. If the B52 doesn't show (sometimes they will cancel last minute), meet at the west end of the static display ramp where it connects to the taxiway.I'll be in town on vacation visiting the wife's relatives. And I will be attending Saturday's airshow. Hope to see some of you there. If you are thinking of attending, please respond here.....CheersGene Gene

I did make the kptk open house though on Sunday. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
September 2, 200916 yr Wish I had seen this post sooner because I did go. In the end, we ended up going on Sunday which was the wrong choice. The weather was terrible. In fact, it had to have been one of the most incorrect forecasts I have ever seen. It was supposed to be sunny and 74, it turned out to be rainy most of the afternoon, in the 60's with strong winds. The Thunderbirds, however, did manage to get off a low level show - fantastic! How many people showed up under the B52? I have always wanted to have a gathering of FS people in the area.In the hangar they had several displays. It would have been hice to have a really good sim set up in there. Pay a buck to fly for a few minutes - money goes to charity or AVSIM...Jim, maybe even a good ASA demo... MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
September 2, 200916 yr Hi All,I didn't go because of the not so good weather both days. I have always thought about running a sim demo, but was never sure about the set-up things. And then my equipment is not so new and it is pretty much in place here at home so it would take me forever to take things apart and then put back together. And I would be doing this all by myself. And there would be no Internet for some of our stuff.
September 6, 200916 yr Author I was fortunate enough to go on Friday and Saturday. My friend runs the transient ramp (where all the static aircraft were parked). On Friday, I got to ride around with him and watch his crew park many of the aircraft. And, got to talk with the crew of the Delta B757 - Breast Cancer Awareness aircraft. Best was getting to sit in the cockpit and talk with the flight crew!Saturday was good. Unfortunately, I was the only one under the B52 wing :( . Oh well, there's always the next show in 2 years.Having a sim setup in the hangar would be great. When there's another show at KMTC, I can provide a contact point for anyone willing to set one up.Gene Gene
