August 19, 200916 yr Hello,I'm trying to decide on a card for a new system. I read in the forums that I shouldn't do the GTX 295 because it has two chips and is basically SLI which is useless for FSX.I see that EVGA has a 1MB and a 2MB GTX 2852MBhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E168141304961MBhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130484Is the 2MB version worth the extra $80? I don't mind paying the $ as long as there is some benefit. I am looking at a I7-950 and 6 GB of DDR3 1600, CL6. To me, I thinking extra video memory can't be bad but with all the intricacies of hardware and FSX, I just want to be sure my thinking is straight. In addition, if I don't but the best card I can now, I always be thinking about upgrading the card anyway. In a way, the extra $80 now will save me the price of a future upgrade :( MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad

I don't think FSX will back use of it, but some game might. We will have to see what others have to say.
August 19, 200916 yr Hi,I bought the EGVA 2GB a short while ago. Great cardNevertheless I think that 2GB for FS9 (or FSX) is a waste of money. But I do also other games...EDIT:About the i7..I bought the i7-920 and with a proper CPU cooler I easily overclocked it to an i7-940. Saved a few bucks. This is rated as a good cooler (a bit pricy but it does the job good)- Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme 1366 RT Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024 System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro

Keep in mind that just because you clocked it to another processors clock that it will run as good as that cpu doesnt mean it will. There is a reason they charge more for them. Jim Wenham
