Heavy Hitters (MD-11) Win7/64 issues

Featured Replies

Bit of a problem with the MD-11 now.I was running Vista 64 and FSX, MD-11 FS2Crew worked fine. When the MD-11 loaded I could select the FS2Crew from the menu in FSX.Then I went and built a new machine, using Win7 64 Bit, reloaded FSX and all my payware, now FS2Crew won't work for MD-11. For the default 172 its fine, haven't loaded the ATR72 yet, but I have tried re-installing the MD-11 4 times, using various comapatibility modes and it seems to install OK, but I can't start the program using the start center. It doesn't even show up in the drop down menu within FSX.Any ideas?(or you could just release the Maddog or coolsky version and I will forget about this problem for awhile :) )

Hi John,I'm sorry you lost me here...You don't select FS2Crew from any FSX menus per se... :(You open the FS2Crew Panels by clicking the clickspot located on the MD-11 panel itself (as documented in the FS2Crew MD-11 manual). If you want to know if FS2Crew is "connected" to the MD-11 aircraft itself, please take a look at the PMDG MD-11 panel.cfg file.If you see FS2Crew window/gauge entries on the MD-11 panel.cfg, then you know FS2Crew is there.Remember that FS2Crew only gets loaded via the panel.cfg file for the MD-11. FS2Crew is not an "external" app. It loads when the panel.cfg loads.P.S. Be sure to download the latest version of the Start Center from here. You may have an old version:http://www.fs2crew.com/cart/pages/Downloads-%26-Updates.html

Thanks Bryan, I'll look again when I get home.I just remember that FS2Crew would show up as a selection in that last ALT drop down menu (same ine that PMDG and FSUIPC shows up in)

Did a complete uninstall and reinstall. Made sure to select Vista Compatibility Mode for the base install and patches.Ignored the "This didn't install correctly warning from Win7"Rebooted and Voila, it works! Thanks!

Glad you got it solved.I use Win 7, too. I've never had to use Vista compatibility mode, but if it works for you, that's all that counts.Cheers,
