September 23, 200916 yr Hi All,I am still wondering why you all think that Mesh entries should be listed in the Scenery Library or in scenery.cfg?I just double checked mine and nowhere is my FSG mesh or my worldwide mesh listed and I KNOW it shows up in both FS04 and FSX.In fact you can't even browse to the mesh files or folder and have it show up as new in the library as long as there is a World folder already in there.Mesh gets automatically read by FS and the highest resolution mesh is always used if you have 2 or more meshes for the same area. I don't think moving things in the scenery.cfg in regards to mesh changes anything.Thanks,
September 24, 200916 yr Jim,All due respect, I think my thoughts are clearly stated in my posts in this topic.I am not stating this is the only way it will work, only my opinion of the best way to maximize the addons that I have. Mesh gets automatically read by FS and the highest resolution mesh is always used if you have 2 or more meshes for the same areaThis is true 1000%.The only time that it matters is if you have 2 mesh files for the same area of the same resolution or if you want to disable addon mesh.I have FSGenesis mesh for British Columbia along with the mesh provided in Vic+ by Holger and Jon. I follow Holger's suggested setup to insure I see his mesh and not Justin's. Nothing against Justin or his mesh, just that Holger fine tuned the mesh for his area and that's what I want to see.If you are happy with your setup, fantastic. September 25, 200916 yr Hi,But you can't chose a "pure" mesh file to be added to your library.Sure you can.Mesh files are .bgls and are quite happy in any active scenery folder.Disable the scenery folder in the Scenery Library and the mesh is not used (except default).All of the default mesh is contained in a scenery folder, ...\FS9\Scenery\World\scenery to be precise.Disable that entry and try to start the sim, won't happen.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
