KC-135 library problem

Featured Replies

I recently downloaded a KC135 model from Flightsim.com which included both a library file and a model file with textures. I use SceneGenX to place objects presently. I cannot seem to get the object to work correctly. I get a compilation error when i place it in SceneGenX. Anyone care to walk me through exactly which files go where and how do i access and add this model to my objects list in SceneGenX? Its a very recetn addition to the libray over at flightsim.comEither that or I guess I could use an AI model for the same thing.Thanks.

Can you provide the full, exact filename at Flightsim?I would like to see that package. Thanks.

File is first in the list if you search for KC-135.filename: boeing_kc_135_tanker.zip

I do not use SceneGenX so cannot help you out there.I did convert the mdl to an Object Library which could be used with a program such as Instant Scenery (Flight1).This model apparently will only display in FSX - (looks great I might add). However it does not display at all in FS2004.Hope that info is helpful.

Thanks Dave, Ive found an excellent AI package and have some very nice AI birds sitting on the ramp now and it adds some decent movement to the scenery.Appreciate the effort!

that download includes the .mdl file unpackaged, as well as a library .bgl file containing the .mdl ready for use. Unzip the Kc 135 US Library folder to a convenient location. In SBX 3.13, use the Edit -> Object Lib Manager tool to "get temporary objects from bgl" and navigate to the .bgl file in the scenery subfolder that you just unzipped. You can select on e of the existing categories such as FSX_vehicles_aircraft and click the left arrow to add the kc 135r final object. Then click OK and the object will be added to the library. You can also copy the GUID for the object which the object managers shows for you. then unzip one of the jpg files to your SBuilderX folder -> LibObjects FSX_vehicles_aircraft subfolder and rename it using the GUID that you copied. That will make the thumbnail available in the object manager window.Once you have added the object to the object manager, you can place it using the object tool, and rotate or scale it using the mouse. Then select the objects (or use select all objects if you have multiple ones) and compile to create your object placement bgl. You need to add the library folder as well as your placement bgl file to the FSX scenery library.scott s..
