Different versions of FS9?

Featured Replies

Can I have FS9 in today's modern world with the scenery and AI of 2009 and have another FS9 with say, 1980's scenery and AI? What I would like to do is to be able to fly in the 1960/70/80's with the various aircraft, scenery and AI to get the feel of that era without having the "modern" aircraft and scenery in it. I do not want to "delete" the modern scenery and AI each time I want to fly out of Miami pretending it's 1964 and the next day fly out of there in todays world.Thank you in advance for any help/advise you can offer.Kind regards

HelloYes it's possible This can give you some guideline for make what you wanthttp://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=261024http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?t=201438ORSome folders renaming will be needed each time you want to swap ... like the scenery folder ..aircraft.folder .... etc..EG if you have two series of aircrafts (modern and old era) you must rename one of the folder as aircraftOLD and FS9 will only use the folder aircraftIf you want use the old aircrafts .. you rename the aircraft folder for the moderns as aircraftMOD and rename the folder aircraftOLD as aircraft Will be the same for some other specific folders (the non common FS9 folders)Hope it's help :)Regards.bye.gifGus.

I'm not sure how many sceneries are made from the 1970s...if there are, I must have missed them completely.

You got some here:http://www.calclassic.com/

My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....

There was the Golden Wings project which was the first I was aware of for regressing airfields. The above cal classics I think follows the same methodology. I don't know what became of the GW3 scenery (anyone?)scott s..

Hi,Golden Wings download(s):http://www.theoldhangar.net/toh_downloads.html(bottom of the page). This also includes a separate Silver Wings dll file for creating a unique version.Support forum:http://mainescenery.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=goldI also have created a dll file that creates a Classic FS version of FS9 for my era, although it hasn't been released publicly.Hope this helps,

u could also try to partition your hardriveand install fs2004 on both so that one is just for 60/70/80's and the other for modern aircrafts and sceneries. then when you feel to fly the old stuffs, just boot in that partition.
