September 25, 200916 yr Since owning the i7-975/GTX285, combo, one thing I have never increased (duh...) was the Airport Vehicle traffic from medium density to anything higher. I never could even dare do that with my P4 3.4GHz....unless I wanted to move around the airport at slide-show animation.Well..being that I was just tooling around the Victoria Plus islands just outside the mainland from Vancouver, B.C., Canada...----and was near Vancouver International, I decided to swing on over there. Coming in through 2200 feet at 55 mph, it dawned on me that with increasing the graphics tax load to max on the Scenery Density and AUTOGEN sliders yesterday in configuring my final .cfg tweaks---with no dropping below 30 fps on use of the FPS limiter software--- today I cranked the SHIPS and FERRIES to max, as WELL as the Airport Traffic to see if it was doable. Not surprised (actually) that the BEAST COMBO didn't fall below 30 FPS with even adding on this greater graphics burden as well.So...I guess that my FSX 'world' can be pretty well, totally complex. This new experience has more than paid for the out-lay in upgrading to this present system. More than paid for itself!Nobody will be disappointed with their i7 upgrade, I'm sure. But, if truly so, then I wouldn't know what to say?I'd just shake my head and be amazed! All I, as an i7-user can state is, that the i7975/GTX285 combo has certainly ROCKED my world! :)Back to Vancouver.....:)))))

September 27, 200916 yr Maybe someone can help me here. There's a value for setting the level of airport ground traffic in FSX. I accessed it using a copy of TweakFSX, but I am sure you could just do it manually. I just don't remember what the variable is. Anyhow, I adjusted the airport ground traffic to 2000% above the realistic value. That covered every inch of tarmac and taxiway with tankers, support trucks, and luggage carts. That might make things be a little more slide-show-like for you. Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM
